Each year the top scorers of the ARML Competition compete in a Tie-Breaker Round. The Tie-Breaker consists of a series of questions given one at a time. The student who answers the question the quickest is considered to be the winner of this event. This award was previously referred to as the Julius Hlavaty Trophy until the year 2000.
