Important Information
Flying into UNLV: If your team is flying to UNLV, UBER and Lyft now operate leaving Las Vegas airport from the parking garage. The approximate costs for taxis are listed in the table below but many taxis are known to “long haul” by taking the highway (they should take the backroads to UNLV). When you arrive at UNLV, you should proceed to Tonopah Hall (#20 on the campus map: http://maps.unlv.edu/PDF/main-building-color-name.pdf) located at 1130 University Road, where your team will be assigned to a dorm.
Fee: The $80 per person charge assumes a double occupancy room with a Friday night stay. For any additional requested single rooms, teams will be charged $80 plus an additional $28 per room for a total of $108. For teams who wish to stay at UNLV either Thursday or Saturday night (or both), teams will be charged for all rooms at the rate UNLV charges ARML: $28 per double bed per night and $56 per single bed per night. Waiver: The parents of every student competing at ARML at UNLV are required to fill out the waiver above, and these waivers must be turned in at housing check-in or to the UNLV representative at the coaches' meeting. Friday: On Friday afternoon, a meeting for new coaches will begin at 3:00, with the full coaches meeting starting at 3:30. A meeting for proctors will take place at 4:00, and the competition will begin at 6:00. Teams will do the Team Round and the Power Question on Friday evening, with pizza and the super relay in the Student Union afterwards at 8:00.
Saturday: On Saturday, the competition will begin in the ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Student Union (#31 on the campus map) at 9:00am with the individual questions, relay rounds, and tiebreakers in the morning, and the awards ceremony following lunch.
