When teams arrive, they should proceed to Burge Hall, where registration will take place. One coach registers for all students. All students and coaches will be housed at Burge Hall. On Friday evening, there will be two official events: the Coaches' Meeting, which will start at 8:00 pm in the Lucas Dodge Room; and the Estimathon, a game hosted by Andy Niedermaier, in which teams of 8 will come up with the tightest ranges to a set of 13 estimation problems. Teams must sign up in advance with the name of your team. You will be able to sign up in Burge Hall Friday as space allows. The Estimathon will be held in the Illinois room. There will also be recreational activities available, either for free or for a nominal fee. There will be a room set aside in Burge Hall on Friday night for students to have soft drinks and some snacks. On Saturday, the competition will begin with the Team Round, after which there will be a five-minute break, and then the Power Question will commence. These first two parts of the contest will be held in in Phillips Hall and VanAllen Hall. These buildings are located in the downtown area between Iowa Ave and Jefferson Street, approximately 3 blocks from Burge Hall and 2 blocks from the IMU. See map at http://maps.uiowa.edu/ph. Practice rooms will also be assigned in these buildings for Friday. After Power and Team, all the teams will gather for the Individual questions in the Iowa Memorial Union Ballroom. When they are finished, there will be a lunch break, and then teams will reassemble for the Relay Rounds. The Tiebreakers and the Awards Assembly will follow.

Should it be necessary to contact someone during ARML, here are the emergency phone numbers to use:
Burge Hall (319) 335-3091 (24 hours)
Steve Condie (630) 401-2290
Belin Center (Fri.) 800-336-6463; 319-335-6148 (both numbers are answered 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday)

The $65 per person charge assumes a double occupancy room with a Friday night stay. Two single rooms per team will be reserved for coaches for no additional charge. For any additional requested single rooms, teams will be charged $15.00 per additional single room per night. Teams will not be charged for additional single rooms that arise due to an odd number of students or coaches of the same gender. All teams are expected to have registered all students at the ARML website by May 9, 2017.

If your team plans to stay on Thursday and/or Saturday nights, the room rates are as follows:
Double = $33 per person
Single = $48 per person

Note: for these extra nights, single rooms are not given to the coaches at the price of a double room.

All teams are expected to have registered all students at the ARML website by May 9, 2017. No-shows will be charged the full room rate.

It is the responsibility of the coaches to make sure all keys are returned from your team. Teams will be held financially responsible for all lost OR unreturned key. We strongly suggest that coaches check to see how many keys were lost or not returned by their students before leaving the hall. (Coaches can do this by checking the Express Check Out envelopes before taking the envelopes to the Burge desk.) This way, coaches will not be surprised when their team is billed $25 for every lost or unreturned key after the ARML weekend.
